Lohiya Academy is associated with RIOS and provide to you an array of courses from RIOS. You want to do your schooling or Pre-Degree through an open school, RIOS is the institute. Students enrolled at Lohiya Academy now have the opportunity to complete their Std. X and Std. XII exams through the RIOS non-formal system. Lohiya Academy is an accredited institution, both for the registration of candidates and for the conduct of exams, of the RIOS. Lohiya Academy provides weekly consultations and regular classes also if required.

The RIOS Senior Secondary Certificate is recognised and accepted by Universities and other Higher Education Institutions all over India.

RIOS-UP Courses:-

SECONDARY(High School) COURSE

This Course is equivalent to the Xth standard. This is offered to those who are desirous of completing 10th standard education leading to Secondary School Certificate

SENIOR SECONDARY(Intermediate) COURSE

This Course is designed for those who have passed the Xth standard or equivalent examination from a recognised Board and would like to continue their education towards a Senior Secondary Certification, equivalent to XII standard.

The students have to participate in the examination conducted by Rajkiya Institute of Open Schooling in every April and October.

After getting the cdertificate from RIOS students are eligible to apply for all courses and jobs that are applicable to those who passed the State government’s SSLC or Plus Two. Those who successfully complete the course are eligible for the Medical, Engineering, IT courses as well as any other professional courses. All Indian Universities accept our courses. The importance of Plus Two is increasing as it is the basic requirement of many jobs including those applicable through PSC. Those who pass this course are eligible to apply for both state and central government jobs.

On Demand Examination

Board conducts on demand examination, annual and supplementary examinations at secondary and sr. secondary levels. The candidates who are appearing for the first time will be the part of annual examination and the candidate who gets a reappear in annual examination will appear in the supplementary examination. A student can appear in On Demand Examination at Secondary level examination any number of times as per his/her convenience. Openness and flexibility is the main essence of Board and it gives a lot of flexibility to the students in the matters related to examination such as (no compulsion of appearing in all the subjects at the same examination) appearing in one or more subjects in the examination as per the convenience, credit accumulation of the passed subjects, six chances to appear in the public examinations over a period of three years, and transfer of credit up to four subjects in the case of open school ex- learners and formal candidates.

Eligibility

1. Secondary Level.

The candidate should have completed 14 years of age on 1st February of the Year of admission.
The candidate would be required to submit one of the following documents as a proof of age :

1. School leaving certificate of Govt. /Recognized School duly countersigned by the District Education Officer or equivalent rank of the area concerned.
2. Date of Birth Certificate from Municipal Committee/Registrar of Birth & Death along with an affidavit by the Parents/Guardian in confirmation of the name and Date of Birth of the Candidate.
3. In case Municipal Committee record of date of birth is not available and the candidate has never studied in any Govt./ Recognised school, then the Parents/Guardians may give an affidavit confirming the date of birth and name and parenthood of the candidate, attested by the Oath Commissioner/ Notary Public.

2. Senior Secondary.

1. No minimum Age Limit.
2. A candidate must have passed Secondary from this Board or from any Board recognized by the Board of School & Techinical Education (C.G.)
3. There must be a gap of at least two years between the year of passing secondary examination and that of appearing in the Senior Secondary Examination. However, this gap of two years shall be counted from the year/session of earning compartment in secondary examination in case such candidates pass the subject(s) of compartment in the subsequent two chances.
4. Compulsory to pass the English subject in Secondary Examination. Those candidates who are fail in English subject in Secondary Examination, will give the Secondary Examination of English subject with the Senior Secondary Examination under O.S.S. For this, candidate has to submit the application form in separate and has to pass the given examination before the Senior Secondary Examination otherwise his/her result for the Senior Secondary Examination will be terminated.

Course Details

Both High School and Intermediate course can be done as open or distance learning courses. It can be done as part time or distant education course. Those who can not attend regular classes can do in house study. After course registration, the study materials for the subjects you selected will provided on cost.

There will be contact classes for three days in week. The date of contact classes will be informed.

The students can do Science, Commerce and Humanities separately. The students have to select the subject based on his future career plans. For instance, those who wish to continue their studies in BSc or Medical or Engineering or Nursing field must select Science subjects.

The students who do Intermediate with Science group will have to attend compulsory contact classes. Physics, Chemistry and Biology will have practical lab. Contact classes are compulsory for Science group students. Those doing High School and Intermediate course correspondence will be provided with required Records, Assignments and Practical works.

Fees structure

Examination fees is not included in the above mentioned fees. The examination for those subjects with Practical exams.

Fees Payment

High School-The students who are doing correspondence course have to pay Rs 5500/- as registration fees. The remaining Rs 4000/- must be paid after one month.

Intermediate (Commerce/Humanities)-Those who are doing correspondence course have to pay Rs 6,800/- as registration fee. The remaining Rs 5,000 must be paid after one month.

Intermediate (Science)-Students pursuing correspondence must pay Rs8800/- as Registration fee.The remaining amount of Rs.7000 /- must be paid after one month.

Examination

The main exam will be conducted in October - November 2014. In Kerala there are examination centers in all districts. There are examination centers in all other Indian states as well as in Gulf countries. The students can choose their examination centers at their convenience. The certificate will be given in December 2014 after the examination.
